Q. Who is eligible for a grant through AML’s Family Building Fund?
• Children currently residing in New Mexico Foster Care.
• Youth who are aging out, or who have aged out, of the New Mexico Foster Care system, without being adopted.
• Families, who have adopted through New Mexico Foster Care, and are in need of post-adoption assistance and support.
Q. How does AML identify New Mexico children, youth, and family in need of this type of support?
A. The AML Family Building Fund works closely with New Mexico CYFD (Children, Youth, and Family Department) to identify potential grant recipients.
Q. How do you apply for a grant through AML’s Family Building Fund?
A. Currently, grant requests are received through Social Workers across New Mexico who have identified a need that AML and its Family Building Fund could potentially serve. Grant requests should be made in writing and mailed to:

Q. Is there a particular grant cycle or deadline for grant request submissions?
A. No. Currently, grant requests are taken year round. We serve on a ‘need basis’ and work to provide grants quickly and efficiently.
Q. Is there a cap to the amount of grant dollars that can be given out for an individual request?
A. Yes. Currently, our grant cap is at $1,000.00.
