Power of 100 Women   |   AML Foundation Sponsored Research   |   Public Awareness Campaign 2009

Power of 100 Women

On September 20, 2008, 100 exceptional women took part in a ‘first of its kind’ event, benefiting The AML Foundation. The “Power of 100 Women” brunch was held in the gardens of the Nedra Matteucci Galleries, in Santa Fe. Through laughter and tears, the commitment and determination of The AML Foundation, to make a difference in the lives of youth in New Mexico foster care, was shared. The event also highlighted AML’s belief that “A tidal wave of strength can be found within all women. When women join forces – miracles happen!”

“Power of 100 Women” will be held annually with a focus of raising dollars for AML’s Family Building Fund. The fund is making a tangible difference in the lives of children in our state who wonder if a miracle will happen to them. To date, this first gathering of “Power of 100 Women” has raised several thousand dollars for the Family Building Fund. We thank all involved for their generous support in making this event such a success! In addition to the annual gathering, “Power of 100 Women” also offers membership opportunities and a variety of options for donating throughout the year. Contact the AML office to join!

AML Foundation Sponsored Research

The AML Foundation is committed to carrying out adoption education, dispelling myths and reversing negative attitude toward adoption. AML believes in the effectiveness of information gained through research.

For 2008, AML commissioned a public opinion survey to determine New Mexico adults’ attitudes and opinions on adoption. The study, titled “AML Foundation, Adoption Perception Survey - New Mexico,” was published in April 2008. The study also includes measurements of potential adoption interest in the state, as well as what motivates New Mexicans interested in adopting.

The AML Foundation will use this information in a variety of ways, including directing its 2009 public awareness campaign: “Adoption … a Natural Option.”

Public Awareness Campaign 2009: “Adoption … a Natural Option”

Utilizing television, radio, newspaper, and other creative means, this PR campaign will hold as its objective creating deeper adoption understanding, awareness, and pride in New Mexico, and, to urge New Mexican families to give serious consideration to adopting a child.
